Teira Wines

Dan Donahoe commissioned me to re-launch the Teira Wines brand. The new direction is aimed with an emphasis towards women, based on research that showed sales were largely made by women. I provided a conversational editorial tone, modern font styles, target and tested colors, photographic treatments, technical standards, and logo usage with guideline examples. We re-launched the brand in 2015, ensuring the new identity worked across a wide-range of materials including; website, phone and tablets, wine labels, package boxes and kegs.

Teira - Concept

Design transcends all mediums, and today, finally, we can now marry our typographical treatments and font choices that were originally designed for print, to the web — helping to provide a consistent look and feel. To that end, our first step in the design process was to create a new logo, label and package and migrate that gracefully to the web. The font Raleway was used for a modern-feel. Beautiful large images and video set the bucolic tone of this small family-owned winery. Video was used and optomized for the web, serving up video for the desktop and a large photo for mobile devices.

Re-branding

Rebranding a company's goals, message, and culture — many have tried and most fail. A successful campaign requires more than a revamped logo. It demands a vision that inspires customers, investors, and others to see the company in a new light.

Strategy

Re-examine the audience. Who's buying? What's different, what's amazing? What's the brand's personality? What's the brand's story? Is there a niche?

Application

Skillfully distribute Teira wines into select markets to match demographics, i.e, Whole Foods, Andronicos, and well-established, 4 star restaurants. Tell a personal story — a great winemaker, excellent soils and vines. Provide a great experience on mobile devices and social channels.

Tablet Too

iPads

For the phone and tablet I provided less video, swapping video for beautiful, engaging photos of the bucolic vineyard and an inside look at the people behind the wine. Navigation is simple with clear primary action buttons and simple labeling.

Social Media

Social Media is employed for news and events, and for guests to share photos and tasting notes - especially news about wine varietel releases.
