EPIC Hotel, Miami
A Kimpton Hotel in Miami's downtown waterfront.
The EPIC Hotel, asked me to create a website targeting wealthy international business travelers. The site architecture for this sophisticated urban resort features a full-screen cinematic design, and a refined, global booking widget. The site's neutral color palette reflects the hotel's interiors with cool-gray and persimmon-colored textiles. Large photos help to showcase the location and draw the user into the hotel's atmosphere.

EPIC - Concept
The site's color scheme captures the flavor of Miami, from historic neighborhoods, and private yachts to sandy beaches and worldly cuisine. The site's look and feel, and architecture mirrors the hotel's desire to bring the outdoors in, by using lots of white space and cool grey fonts with sceen edge-to-edge imagery. The large photographs and content reflect Miami's zeal for life, and create a big Wow! factor.

Building a Brand
The challenge with Kimpton's collection of hotels was to create a common set of branding elements, a "shell" to let guests know they're on a Kimpton site, while allowing the hotel's personality to shine through.
Mobile Booking
Another challenge for the phone was to design a clean, simple booking path with limited taps. I worked within the constraints of Sabre Hospitality's booking engine and also designed integrated promotions into a home page slider.
Also Designed for Blackberry
I also designed a stripped-down version for the Balckberry phone. The same design principals apply - keep menus short, make it easy to get Home, and guide users to easy bookings.
Tablet Too
iPads
The EPIC site looks and works great on a tablet. The large images really pop. Navigation is a breeze with large primary action buttons and clear labeling.
Social Media
Social Media is employed for news and events, promotions, and for guests to share photos and stories - especially weddings.
